A great pair of shoes with a lot of history! Marked CC41 inside, which is the
utility logo from the British Board of Trade from 1941-51. CC41 meant that this
was a controlled commodity and met the governments austerity regulations.
Nice dark blue suede wedge style shoes with a snakeskin painted wooden sole
and dark blue leather details. It looks like the brand name was Celeste and
each shoe is marked ' 2305 CC41 W.1. Style No 2325-3 Size 6 1/2 3920
Please keep in mind that this is British sizing and vintage sizing as well.
Across the bottom of the shoe, along the outside sole, they measure approx. 10
3/4" in length and across the widest part at the front 3 3/8". It is hard to
measure the inside length but I get approx. 10" My guess is that these are
approx. an 8 - 8 1/2 in US or Canadian sizing. I was a size 9 when I bought
these ages ago and they were too small. Please measure a pair of shoes in a
similar style for your options. The back heel is approx. 1 1/4".
Shoes are in great condition considering their age. The only real thing that I
could find to mention is that there is some scraping to the painted snakeskin
on the left shoe near the inner front (see photos).
Very sturdy shoes and in a great dark blue suede. Please feel free to ask any
questions. Perfect for any vintage 40's reenactment event.
All sales final on shoes.
